Life Planner by Erin Condren

So I bit the bullet and purchased a life planner by Erin Condren.  Was it expensive.. yeppers it was!!  I can tell you how I'm justifying this purchase is that 1. I am a write it down person and 2. It is an 18 month planner.

I've tried the whole technology route with my phone app... and it seems to be what I needed to do gets lost or I didn't hit save.. this does nothing but makes me look dumb when I miss an appointment or call.  While I love technology.. going back old school to writing things down seemed to be the best route for me.

I truly believe we all rely on technology way (WAY) too much!  How about I love to send real snail mail birthday cards.. I missed one of my best friends birthday because I relied too much on facebook to tell me when it was.. I woke up.. jumped on facebook and saw it was ...'s bday and I felt like a pile of crap..

So I went back to my planner.  I usually get the cheap planner from Wal-Mart around back to school time.. but most of those are geared towards school age or collage people.  I find that most planners I have purchased really aren't what I want or looking for.

I saw a few people posting about these Erin Condren life planners and so I started to watch YouTube videos on reviews.. P.S. I am a.m.a.z.e.d. because you can find a video to ANYTHING on YouTube.. anyways.. I contemplated now for a few weeks.. looked on ETSY .. but I kept coming back to Erin Condren.. SO..... an hour ago.. I bit the bullet and ordered my life planner.

I'd not recommend you even look at the page if you don't currently write plans down..  Don't waste your money saying you are going to do it.. unless you are ready for a change and writing things down.. no you won't.. just being real.

Anyways, when I ordered I went through a girls link and got $10 off.. she also gets $10 credit.. sooooo once I get my planner and do my review.. if you'd like to purchase one.. go through my account.. we can both save $10 :)

This is my purchase.. but with my name on it.. EXCITED to get my life planner!!! I chose this quote because I truly believe there is always something to be happy about! I just returned from a mission trip.. which I will be blogging about .. makes you know there are people worse off than you.. Always be happy!  #lifeplanner #organization #organizer #erincondren

Goals

What do you think of when you see the word goals?  Do you think it's just a word?  Goals is MORE than a word.. it is a word that can take you beyond your wildest dreams.

Do you write your goals down?  Or do you say them in your head?

If you are not writing your goals down and you want to CHANGE something in 2014.. write down your goals.  Stare at these goals each and every day.

If you start out with a goal, I am assuming you have a purpose for that goal?  Is it to drop some lbs?  Is it to get some time freedom?  Maybe you are seeking debt freedom?

What if.. what if you wrote your goals down and put them in front of your face each and every day.. Depending on how motivated you are to achieve.. I challenge you to put your goals in your fridge.. in your car.. by your computer.

Once you write your goals... have somewhere near the purpose.  Try a picture of that purpose.  If you are trying to lose weight to be around longer for your kids or to be able to do physical activities with them.. put a picture of your kids by those goals.

If you are seeking debt freedom or time freedom.. put that purpose of why you are seeking those by your goals.

If you do this, I promise you the 2014 year will look significantly different for you.

Cheers to a happy and healthy 2014

Much Love
Kara

Fall pumpkin project

I find myself pinning on pinterest and never doing the craft or project that I pin.  I decided to give some fall pumpkins a try and so here is what I did.  I wanted decorations that I could display Halloween - Thanksgiving without it looking Holiday specific.

I started by cutting my wood to heights I desired.  I did different heights to give a little definition to my final projects.

After painting and several hours of drying, I then put nails the top to hold the stem of the pumpkins

To give it a distressed look I chose to use a hand held sander to make the 'look'.  This part of the making is best with 2 people.  One to hold the pumpkin and one to distress.

The distressed look turned out great.  I am sure it could have looked better, but hey for beginners making on pumpkins.. I was happy with the outcome.
I then needed to have stems for the pumpkins.  I found it easiest to go to a tree in my front yard to cut the stems.  I had no method to how long the stems were.  I wanted them unique so whatever happened in the cut I was fine with.

I paid big bucks for 'special' wire at a local craft store.  When I went to the local Home Depot I saw this wire that worked PERFECT (and much cheaper)

When I was placing the wire, I used the stems I had cut to make a little curly cue.

Final pumpkin project for 2013.
It turned out super cute and I am glad I took the time to make something I actually pinned on pinterest.  I am going to attempt snowmen real soon.  I will post once I get those complete.

Thanks so much for taking a look at my blog.

I grew up

I grew up a chubby girl.  I grew up being made fun of.  I grew up being handed 5th Avenue candy bars.  I grew up having unlimited access to McDonald's, to Dairy Queen.  I grew up.

When I was growing up, I'm not for sure anyone realized what was happening or what I was dealing with emotionally and physically.  It seemed as though giving me food would solve it all.  In fact, it made it worse. It was not a reward, it was dooming my life.  I don't blame anyone in my life for how I grew up. I grew up.

I remember vividly one day getting off the bus and a few boys on the bus leaned towards the windows and said .. mooooove over here comes the cow.  I'll never forget that as long as I live.  As a child it is hurtful.  Kids are hurtful even more so in 2013. I grew up.

In 9th grade I made the decision to want to change.  By that age you realize you can be self destructive or self helping.  I rode my bike all summer, walked and started to attend weight lifting in the early mornings.  I grew up that summer.

I remained athletic my high school years.  I graduated from Mercer High School and attended college.  Somewhere in the mix of things I forgot how great it felt to feel good about yourself.  I then met my husband a year into college and COMPLETELY forgot about how it felt to feel so darn good.  I grew up into an adult.

I settled into my marriage.  My husband and I continuously gained weight.. We find something new to try for weight loss .. we'd lose 10 lbs and gain back 50.  It was a vicious cycle.  Always felt good, but it didn't last long.

I found AdvoCare through a friend of mine and my husbands words were.. it's another 'program' we are going to follow.  I have lost 35 lbs and 5 inches alone from my belly area.  This for me is huge because being asked when I was due with my baby was so very hurtful when you can't carry a child.  My husband has lost 50 lbs.  Do we still have a long ways to go, yes... Will we give up no... Why?? because it is a lifestyle change.  We still live life.. we still are human.. AdvoCare is not a diet.. it is truly a life style change.  We grew up.

When I write this I think about how many other women have been in my shoes or are currently.  I know it's tough to face reality of weight issues.. I do know it's possible.. I have found through AdvoCare that not only are my husband and I able to get healthy, but we are able to pay it forward to others.  We had tried it all... I probably would have drank gasoline if you had told me I'd lose weight.  With AdvoCare it is a life style change.  We fit it into our lives and it works along side our daily life.  Slow and steady.. we will win the race.  We both grew up.

It feels like no other to help other women and men achieve the feeling of greatness and keep it up.  Paying it forward has changed my life and I truly believe that I was put here on Earth to help others change and pay it forward.

I now remember how I felt in 9th grade.. feeling healthy.. feeling good about yourself.. feeling like YOU.

I grew up and now I'm paying it forward.

Have a beautiful day
